I was just returning from Asr prayer, when this guy I know living on my floor catches up with from behind, nudges me to a stop, and holds out a hangar, saying with quite nervousness, “Oye sun, ye shirt “gay” to nhi lg rhi”…

I’m trying to suppress my smile. Actually his shirt was like … flowery. Leafy patterns drawn all over it. I guess that’s what caused him an alarm of portraying himself as “gay” (not that there’s anything wrong with it 🤷‍♂️). Anyways, I told him no, it’s alright. You can go outside wearing this and still, no body’s gonna hit on you, buddy 😂

I felt queer though .. it’s the first time I guess I met a homophobic person. (People afraid of being perceived as gays/lesbians are called homophobic). We Pakistanis have really taken a leap of faith by supporting homosexuality (not that there’s anything wrong with it) in the past few yeas without knowing even it’s basics. I bet 90% people reading this won’t know what a “gaydar” is.

Anyways, the dressing sense is transparent people, for everyone. Anyone wearing anything can be homosexual too and it’s ok too. Boys wearing pink are just as much boys, and girls wearing non-high-waisted jeans are just as much girls. Let the world breath, keep your mind free of judgements. Shhhhhh

It’s raining here in NUST. Not in whole Islamabad btw, I have a friend who just told me that it’s just cloudy there in E and F sectors. But here in G and H, it’s raining. I walked all the way from basketball court to hostel in rain, drenched. But .. it is lovely. Oh it’s lovely. I’m gonna write something. Bbye.
